Put a pan or kadai on the gas. Add moong dal on the pan then roast it on medium flame for 3-4 minute and then add water and wash it.

Now add around two gass of water over the moong dal and add 1/2 tsp of turmeric pwd and salt as per your taste and let it boil.

When water start to boil yellowish foam is formed over the water. Remove this by a spoon. now start to add vegetables. First add papaya and potato pieces on the dal.

Now take a pan put on the gas on low to medium flame when pan becomes hot add 2 table spoon of cumin and dry red chilli if you are not like spicy then you can skip chillies.

When cumin splat and turns into brown color then keep this in a plate and let it cool then make powder of this cumin and chillies.

Now we put same pan on the gas on medium flame. Then add two tbsp of mustard oil. When oil becomes hot then add one pinch of asfoetida then add onion julienne in the oil.

When onion becomes light golden color then add chopped zinger and dry red chillies saute it. After 2-3 minutes you add 1/2 tsp of mustard seed on this oil.

When it's splatting is completely finished then add one ladder of dalma. on this tadka and saute it. Now add 4-5 tbsp of fresh grated coconut and cook for 1 minute.

Now Transfer this dalma to main dalma and mixed with help of a spatula. Now add previously prepared cumin powder over this and mix. Now dalma is prepared.
